Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Ballet Baby

This is a product I bought when I was still new to makeup. It’s not something that I would probably buy now. The main reason for this is that I have oily, hooded eyelids that have significant creases in them always. Cream eyeshadows tend to crease and smudge from my mobile lid to just about everywhere else they can. I will say though, that the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter do dry down eventually. But there is a five minute period after application in which I’m fanning my face with my eyes closed to speed up the drying process before my eyelids transfer the glitter everywhere.

I do remember being in the store and trying out all of the current shades in this Stila collection. I had every intention of buying one of the copper or gold shades that most people online had. However when I was trying them out, those shades could be found in nearly every eyeshadow palette in my collection.

The baby pink silver sparkle of Ballet Baby however, was not a shade I owned. Because of that, it ended up being the colour I bought that day. I have not regretted that decision as I have since then moved away from neutral colours and into bright and unusual combinations so this baby pink was a welcome addition.

I will say that I haven’t worn this shade a lot, for reasons that I will detail below but I did wear this the other day and thought I’d write up a review on it when it was fresh in my mind.

Obviously the display images put online to sell a product are always a little better than what you’re probably going to get in real life but the difference from online to application with this shade was a lot.

Online the girl has this lovely light pink, glittery eyelid yet when I apply this, there is almost no base colour with vaguely pink and silver glitters in it. It does show up better in light than indoors obviously because the glitter reflects with the light, however to get an actual pink base to start showing up I have to put down two layers which makes the glitter thicker, the dry down time longer and the creasing more apparent.

When I do put down two layers this does give me a cool, very glittery effect that I do enjoy, however because of the creasing of my eyelids I will get slight fallout which is more noticeable with glitter flecks.

Overall I do enjoy wearing this Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter when I can put in a little more time and effort and I will keep this to further use, however I don’t know if I would buy another one; simply with my oily, hooded lids often liquid eyeshadows aren’t the most easily manageable.
