Rohto Mentholatum – Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Lotion

Hyaluronic Acid is one of those scary sounding skincare ingredients that is actually a hero for hydration.

I’ve been adding hyaluronic acid to my skincare routine for years now and it’s truly a hero ingredient to me.

Hyaluronic acid is best known for its ability to hold onto 1000x its weight in moisture and over time replenishing skin to enhance a healthy, supple look and feel.

Obviously this sounds amazing even for my oily skin type, hydration is important to supporting my skins health.

For the past many months I have been getting my hyaluronic acid through two versions of the Rohto Mentholatum Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Lotion.

I know that’s a mouthful and there’s even more! That Hyaluronic Acid Lotion comes in varying “weights” depending on how much hydration you want. The two that I own and have been using are the moist and premium versions. There is also a light option before those two.

The Formula

The way I like to apply this lotion is after cleansing as a shot of hydration to prep my skin for the rest of my routine.

In the morning I apply the moist version and before bed I choose the premium however I can mix and match them due to the incredibly light weight formula, even the premium sinks in instantly for immediate hydration.

The formula of this Rohto Mentholatum hyaluronic acid is barely thicker than water which means I only need a tiny amount to cover my entire face. The premium version is noticeably “heavier” than the moist one however both are incredibly light weight.

Due to the fact that I only need a few drops to cover my face these large bottles will last me months and months of use. I can’t exactly remember when I bought these but I would say I get between 6 – 9 months of use between two bottles.

The Review

After applying these hyaluronic acid lotions to my face my skin will feel hydrated and plump without any heavy, creamy feeling that moisturisers can sometimes leave.

I will follow the hyaluronic acid with the rest of my skincare routine and I do feel as though it gives my skin an extra boost of hydration that I would not want to be without.

Now that I am nearing the end of these two bottles I am going to try a new formula from the same brand as well as an entirely new brand to be able to compare my experiences but I would absolutely repurchase these two bottles based off the amazing hydration they have provided me.
