It’s the beginning of the end for my 2019 project pan. When I began this project in August I started with 12 products ranging through skincare, haircare and beauty and I set myself the goal of finishing or hitting pan on each product by the end of the year.
Well, it is now the 1st of December and of the original group of 12, only 2 products remain.
Because this change has happened gradually I didn’t notice the difference too much until I started this post and realised how well I’d done. I’m very happy to have already finished most of my original group and if I can finish any more by the end of the year then I’ll be even happier.
As I was going through each month, slowly using up products in the project pan I also decided that I wanted to keep the good vibes going and have been adding in extra products along the way, creating a “rolling Project Pan” in which when one product goes out, another comes in.
The last month
For this past month of November I started with a group of 9 products and throughout the month I finished 4 of them and made significant progress on those that were left. I’ll insert the group photos from the start and end of the month below to show the progress.
As you can see from the comparison above, I was able to completely finish the SACE Lady lipgloss, Stila Magnificent Metals eyeshadow, Shiseido Ibuki Smart Filtering Smoother and the SACE Lady Liquid Glow highlighter.
Below I’ll insert the individual progress photos for each product, they particularly help me to see the difference that I don’t notice gradually changing throughout the month.
Goals for December
In December my main goals are to finish, or get as close to finishing, the 2 products that remain from my original project pan group. The Revlon Sculpt and Highlight Contour Kit and the Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick – Rock ‘n’ Roll Nude.
Realistically I won’t be able to finish the contour kit however I’d like to make significant progress into it and I should be able to use up the last of the Rimmel lipstick and that would satisfy me for my progress. With the rest of the products I have no specific goals, simply to finish them as soon as I can.
I am also deciding if I want to keep this set of products going into 2020 or if at the end of this year I will end this group of Project Pan products and start fresh. I’ll use this coming month to decide about that.
So that’s all for this project pan update, in the next one it will be a new year and I’ll be out of my no-buy on makeup and skincare! One thing that I have learnt from doing this Project Pan is how long it takes for me to finish my makeup products and I know this knowledge will come into consideration when I think about purchasing any new ones next year. It’s one of the main reasons I’ve enjoyed this Project Pan as it’s taught me a very important lesson about using what I own.
I’ll update you on my progress in one months time, talk to you then!
