October Empties

October Empties

We’re nearing the end of this year but there are still a few products that I want to finish before then. My 2020 Using It Up project is coming along nicely and I think I’ll spend the next two months working away at that for my empties.

NARS High-Pigment Longwear Eyeliner – Via Veneto

I received this as a gift from Mecca and was excited to try a new eyeliner formula. I struggle with my eyeliners running in my waterline. This is a super pigmented formula. It’s also the creamiest and smoothest I’ve used. Unfortunately it becomes too creamy as I found the tip would blunt and flatten immediately upon application. This made it difficult to get any precision. This liner would also transfer in my waterline and I found that it never full dried down so I could never wear this on my eyelids as it would run and smudge.

The Body Shop Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask

This was the last of the moisturisers that I bought to try from The Body Shop. It was also my least favourite. The formula was indeed bouncy. It was also sticky. So sticky that if I applied a little too much then I would feel my eyelids catching when I blinked…

iUNIK Black Snail Restore Serum

Before this formula I did try the Tea Tree serum from iUNIK and this one was a slightly stickier formula. However once applied there was no tackiness on my skin. My face looked plump and glowy with this serum and it was a good boost of hydration. Other than that nothing else much happened with this serum. A good boost of moisture for my skin.

QV Intensive Cream

Previously I used the QV Intensive Body Moisturiser as a thick cream to bring back health to my hands. When I finished that I wanted to step down to this formula and see how it went. This is a nice, smooth hand cream that’s nothing too drastic. My hands were smooth and hydrated after using this but I wouldn’t recommend this for extremely dry skin.

Bumble and bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil

I bought this ages ago and have been using it up recently even though my hair is much shorter now. It’s a nice oil that’s not heavy and doesn’t leave a greasy shine. My hair was super soft to touch and looked very healthy. The bottle also lasted me a long time which is good as this is not what I call cheap.

Organik Botanik Brown Sugar Body Scrub

I’d never heard of this brand before but I needed a new body scrub and this is what I grabbed. The formula was basically brown sugar clumped together in a tub but it was honestly amazing at exfoliating my skin. No large, harsh particles like a lot of other scrubs. I don’t know how ground breaking the ingredients are but this is a great body scrub.
