My Overnight Makeup Bag

Every now and then I need a makeup bag for just a day or two and recently I had to pack for a single day.

Normally when I pack my makeup for travel I like to always pack light however when I pack for a day trip then it’s a real skeleton kit compared to normal. If I’m only going for a day or even two then I’ll often choose to pack makeup that can perform in more places than one so as to save me space and time.

So when I took a quick trip away recently and packed a very light makeup bag I thought I’d share some of my go to picks for a short excursion out.

For the lipstick I chose the shade Beautiful Stranger because it’s a cool toned brown that I can use as a contour/bronzer and also a natural eyeshadow. On my cheeks I’ll blend it out with the concealer brush after I’ve finished with it for blending my foundation and on my eyes I’ll just use my fingertips to smudge out the lipstick shade.

A brown eyeliner is also a great multitasking product because I can use it as a brow pencil, eyeliner or lipliner depending on what I need so I like to have one of those.

And that’s really it. I try and pack a tiny group of products that I know I can push to make a full face of makeup out of. I like to have the option of a full face or just enough to even my skin tone that I can adapt to whatever my day contains.

If I’ve only got one day then I want to use my time wisely, I won’t pack a full makeup bag with too many options and spend too long in the morning deciding my look. If I limit my options then I don’t let myself think too much and I can just slap on my makeup and go!
