The cult classic Maybelline Great Lash Mascara was the first mascara that I ever bought and the only one that I recognised back when I knew nothing about makeup.
The iconic packaging is so well known that I recognised it in the store and bought it to use as my only mascara for at least a year before I began branching out into owning more makeup.
Technically you’re not supposed to keep mascara for years however I don’t like throwing out makeup that’s still usable so I keep most of mine until they’re empty.
This is a great staple mascara. It’s formula is super black and coated my lashes easily without any clumping. It also added a good bit of length and volume. Nothing wild like some mascaras claim however it could be built up to be jet black and would last the whole day without flaking or smudging so it was really all I could need in a mascara.
Right at the end of the tube the mascara was becoming quite clumpy however I knew it was nearing the end so it definitely impressed me with its good run, by that point I’d owned it for years.
Overall this is one of the most pigmented mascaras I’ve used and with no flaking or smudging I side with everyone who recommends this. It’s a well recognised cult favourite mascara for a reason and I can only agree with the general consensus.
