One product I like to have in my shower is a body scrub. I’d never used any product from Essano before so when I saw this Coconut Oil Invigorating Body Scrub I grabbed one to try.
Essano say this invigorating body scrub has been scientifically formulated to gently buff and polish the skin, leaving it feeling clean and smooth. Refined Coconut Shell gently exfoliates, while certified organic Coconut Oil, Argan and Macadamia Oils leave skin hydrated and nourished.
Essano Coconut Oil Invigorating Body Scrub
Very simple instructions for body scrubs. Massage into damp skin in the shower or bath. Rinse well with warm water.
Essano recommend using this once or twice a week. I prefer to use a scrub every second day however the coconut shell particles in this formula are on the larger size. I think it would be too irritating to my skin to apply this scrub so frequently.
As I’ve mentioned before I prefer body scrubs that aren’t too harsh and I found this Essano one to be a little rough. The main exfoliation in the formula comes from refined coconut shell and powdered apricot seeds. Those are both fairly large textures in the scrub and it’s a little much for what I like. I also find that the particles make a mess on the shower floor.
As for how it scrubbed my skin I actually found the ratio of coconut particles to the gel base to be disproportionate. I wished there were more particles in the formula as it felt like parts of my skin we being missed with the scrub. However the particles then create a mess so…
Overall this was an okay scrub. A little on the rough side and also a bit messy with the coconut shell particles getting everywhere. It did smell nice but it’s not quite what I was looking for.
