Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Travel Kit Review

A long time ago I bought the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream when I’d needed some heavy duty healing for my lips. The iconic formula is legendary throughout the beauty world so when I saw that Mecca was stocking an Elizabeth Arden Travel Kit with a selection of their popular products I picked one up as a good way to try a few new things without the commitment of a full sized product.

Included in the kit are travel sized versions of the best from the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour range.

Overall as far as travel kits go I like the variety of this one. For a kit it has a good range of skincare options including their popular Eight Hour Cream.

I’ll be putting up full reviews of each of the above products but I’ll sum up my thoughts on them quickly in this review.

Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Original

It’s a classic formula, thick like an ointment. I use it to heal any serious cracking on my lips or hands if ever they really dry out. It’s very thick and wont sink into skin quickly but it does a good job of healing severely dry skin etc.

Eight Hour All Over Body Miracle Oil

I was a little bit confused as to where this oil is meant to be applied but it’s an all over moisturiser. I ended up using this in my hair as a leave in conditioner and scalp treatment. It smelt nice and left my hair soft and hydrated.

Eight Hour Cream Moisturising Hand Treatment

This is a nice, lightweight hand cream that keeps my hands soft and moisturised without feeling sticky or greasy. Unfortunately it’s not strong enough to keep my hands completely hydrated if they’re particularly dry. For a lightweight basic hand cream this is nice but it’s not enough for me.

Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF15

Unfortunately this lip balm was a bit of a disappointment. The formula was very thin and so I would tend to layer it a bit before it felt like it was working. The few areas of my lips that were chipped weren’t healed by this. Also by the time I was getting to the end of this balm it became very prone to snapping off in the tube.

Overall this is a decent travel kit for testing some of the popular Elizabeth Arden products. The travel bag it comes in is pretty flimsy but would do the job for a small toiletries bag. If you’re looking to test out the formula before buying the full size then you’ll get a good idea of how these products perform from the sizes in this travel pack.
