This e.l.f. Sweat Resistant Mascara & Brow Duo caught my eye as I am constantly battling with smudging and flaking in my mascaras.
The e.l.f. Active range consists of makeup products that can withstand whatever the day brings. This mascara is described as long-lasting and waterproof that won’t smear or smudge and the brow gel as sweat-resistant to comb and feather brows.
I struggle a lot with my mascara smudging underneath my eyes. I think it’s due to my bottom lashes being quite long and touching my face throughout the day. I can easily develop black bags and mascara smudges catching in the fine lines under my eyes; it’s not a good look.
The dual ended packaging means it’s a good product to throw in your bag for on-the-go touch ups. Each end unscrews to pull the tube away from the brush which is not difficult to use at all. I was a little worried it would be annoying however it’s actually very convenient to have my mascara and brow gel in the one tube.

The Mascara
As for the formulas, the mascara is a nice black that coats my lashes evenly. It adds a good amount of volume and length, nothing extreme but it’s the practical mascara that I reach for and know it’ll boost my lashes nicely and last all day.
And this mascara does last all day. Compared to how mascara normally wears on my lashes this will stay put all day with zero smudging and maybe a couple of tiny flecks by the time I get home at night. It’s no showstopper in terms of volume or length but it’s reliable and makes my lashes look better than they normally would so I’ve been quite impressed with its formula.

The Brow Gel
As for the brow gel I’ve been less impressed. To start with the spoolie is so thin that it struggles to even brush through my malleable brows. I have to be very gentle and slow because otherwise I worry I’d honestly bend it.
Once the brow gel has been applied it will hold my brows in place for a little while however by the end of the day it’s completely gone. It’s a clear gel so it doesn’t show up in my brows but I also barely ever reach for it due to it’s weak staying power.
Overall this e.l.f. Sweat Resistant Mascara & Brow Duo has been an experience of highs and lows. The mascara is great in that it boosts my lashes and doesn’t smudge or flake. Unfortunately the brow gel is weak and doesn’t last long at all. On that basis I can’t say I liked it as a whole product as I didn’t like the whole product.
