I read about this specific e.l.f. palette online as one of the best low cost nude, shimmer palettes and had always had my eye on picking one up after that.
When I finally found this palette online I was so excited to buy it and get those shimmer shades on my eyelids. This 6 pan palette came with a brush and mirror in a very nicely weighted palette. The entire thing looks like a high end product so I was impressed before I’d even touched the eyeshadows.
When I did start to swatch the shades the formula was exactly as had been described online; ultra-silky and lustrous. They’re the kind of shimmers that you see on a bride at her wedding; soft, shimmery and smooth. They pick up well on an eyeshadow brush and will apply smoothly to my eyelids. I always wear an eyeshadow primer on my lids and over the primer these shades will wear well throughout the day with minimal fading and creasing.
I like the range of shades in this palette. It’s called the Naked Prism Palette so I expected the neutral tones however I like the progression from light to dark with slight changes in undertones along the way. It’s a great palette for someone looking to perfect the basics. There are the lighter shades for highlighting and the mid tones for day looks that can be darkened into a smoky eye if needed.
Overall I like this palette for the purpose it was designed for; perfecting the basics. I can grab this palette and smooth any shadow over my lids to emphasis my eyes with a natural shade and a little shimmer. I am also very impressed with the weighty packaging and nice mirror so it will be good for travel too.
