At the time when I bought this I hadn’t really heard about overnight masks before so I was interested to see how it would work.
The idea of this COSRX Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask is to be a 3-in-1 hydrating mask that can be used as an overnight mask, a cream or as a wash off mask.
I was expecting the formula to be a very thick, hydrating mask that would sit on my skin and take a long time to sink in; similar to the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. At the time I was experiencing some unusually dry skin and wanted this to cure that feeling of needing extra hydration for my face.
In reality this wore like any regular moisturiser. Its formula wasn’t super thick or any more moisturising than what a regular moisturiser feels like. It was very hydrating however had I not known this was intended to be a hydrating mask I would never have picked it as anything other than a hydrating moisturiser.
The formula was almost like a heavy gel however it sunk into my skin quickly after applying it. I don’t think I would be able to use this as a wash off mask due to the fact that after a few minutes there wasn’t anything left to wash off.
Overall this was a nice hydrating gel however it’s not what I was expecting from an overnight mask and I wouldn’t purchase it again to serve that purpose.
