I’d heard many people talking about their love of Chi Chi makeup however until this lipstick I’d never encountered the brand in store for me to see their products.
When I did eventually find the brand I was taken in by their large range of products but mostly by their huge line of lipsticks. This was right in the middle of the matte lipstick phase in the beauty community and so I decided to buy one of their matte lipstick packs containing three full sized shades.
One of the shades in that pack was this Chi Chi Viva La Diva Lipstick Beautiful Stranger. Firstly, I love the name! Secondly, I love the shade. This is a beautifully warm toned rosy brown lipstick that is unlike anything else in my collection so I was eager to see how it wore on me.
I am notoriously picky when it comes to matte lipsticks. I don’t like my lips to feel dry or tight and so I tend to avoid liquid lipsticks however I’d never used a matte bullet lipstick and so I was hoping it would be a little creamier than a liquid lipstick formula.
Those hopes were were answered in this lipstick. It’s a pigmented, creamy formula that will settle down into a matte finish however it’s neither tight nor drying. I might even say this is a satin finish as it won’t completely set down however it looks matte on the lips which is good for me as it means the formula is more comfortable to wear.
As for how it wears, this lipstick will last me a long time without fading or becoming patchy. It will wear away after eating oily foods as the oil breaks down the lipstick however if I’m not eating then this lipstick will last for around 3-4 hours without fading. I know some of the super matte liquid lipsticks will last for longer than that however I don’t like how drying they are, I much prefer the middle ground of this bullet lipstick.
Overall I really like this Chi Chi Viva La Diva Lipstick formula. It’s the most comfortable matte lipstick I’ve tried and so I’ll be keeping this in my collection for days when I go for that matte effect with my makeup.
