I’m someone who can have quite strong reactions to certain makeup removers so I wanted to quickly write up my thoughts on the MAC Gently Off Eye and Lip Makeup Remover as I’ve been using it recently.
Previously I’ve used and enjoyed the Lancome and Clinique eye makeup removers and the dual-phase formula of this MAC one reminds me of them very much.
To use this remover you need to shake the bottle to mix the formula together. I then dot some onto a cotton pad and press onto my eyes to break up my makeup. Then I wipe my makeup off from my skin.
I’m a bit messy when I take my makeup off so I have, many times, gotten this Eye Makeup Remover in my eyes and somehow it doesn’t sting. I’ll wash my eye out immediately however it never irritates my eye or causes any reaction at all really. The same happened with the Clinique Eye Makeup Remover which is exactly what I want from a product that can often get in my eyes.
I don’t think this is the strongest formula for removing makeup, I’ll often have to make multiple passes with a soaked cotton pad to thoroughly remove all traces of makeup.
Overall I like the formula of this as it never stings my eyes and is very gentle on my skin. I still think the Clinique version is stronger for removing makeup however I’d happily buy this again knowing that it doesn’t irritate my eyes.
