June Empties

For some reason my skin took a turn this past month and so I spent a lot of time experimenting with my skincare routine and taking the occasional break from wearing makeup. I still ended up finishing a few products and a couple that I’d been wanting to use up for a long time.

Skincare

Rohto Mentholatum Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Lotion Moist

I’ve written a full review of these Rohto Mentholatum hyaluronic acid lotions however to sum up my feelings here I would say that I love these lotions. They’re the perfect extra boost to add some hydration to my skin without a heavy lotion formula. The hyaluronic acid leaves my skin plump and glowing and it’s a great, light way to add moisture to my routine without being too heavy for my oily skin. Plus I only need a tiny amount to cover my face so these bottles last me many months of use.

L’Oreal Paris Purify & Mattify Pure-Clay Mask

I’ve also written a full review of this mask with more info and photos. I bought this as my introduction into clay masks. It’s well recognised as being a great drugstore clay mask and I will say that having used and now finished this, I did enjoy its effects. This didn’t provide any miracles however for my oily, acne prone skin it was instantly brightening and tightening. I would apply it also a spot treatment if I has specific breakouts and I felt like those breakouts did dry out faster than normal.

Garnier Pure Skin Facial Cleanser Deep Pore Wash

This is my second time finishing this face wash. I’ve written a full review of this earlier but to sum up my thoughts. I like this wash, I feel like it thoroughly cleans my face without being too harsh even with the physical exfoliants. I personally like physical scrubs even though I know a lot of people don’t. This is the face scrub that I turn to if ever I need a quick solution that I know I like.

The Body Shop Oils Of Life Gel Cream

I’m actually glad that I’ve finished this gel cream. It was an odd texture, like a putty or jelly almost and it was a little messy to scoop out of the jar and apply to my face. As for it’s hydration, it was nice and light however nothing ground breaking.

Makeup

Fyrinnae Loose Eyeshadow Conjuror

Another great Fyrinnae eyeshadow. The colour shift of this shadow is particularly stunning under direct light as it has glitter flecks throughout the formula that really sparkle. This is however one of the shades that definitely needs a glitter glue underneath it for it to really show its pigmentation.

Body Care

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Hand Treatment

I use and love the original Eight Hour Cream however that is quite heavy so I was glad when I used this hand cream to find that it was a smooth, gel formula. This is one of the more interesting hand creams in that it isn’t a heavy feeling however is does a great job at keeping my hands hydrated. It’s very smoothing and while it doesn’t leave a greasy feeling I can tell that there is lotion on my hands for a little while after.

Comfort Zone Skin Regimen Juvenate Body Scrub Review

This was a product I picked up on a whim and it turned out to be the best body scrub I’ve ever used. It had a thick clay mask feeling formula, however it was still able to be squeezed out of the tube, with small exfoliating pieces throughout that was great for scrubbing my skin when I wanted to feel extra clean. I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for another bottle.
